'It's been an honour' - Virat Kohli shares Instagram post on 14th anniversary of international debut

Virat Kohli has completed 14 years in the international arena. A young 19-year-old Kohli made his debut against Sri Lanka on this day in 2008 and the rest is history. On the occasion, the former India skipper shared a post on his Instagram account to mark the day on August 18 (Thursday).
Talking about Kohli’s accomplishments in the international arena, the right-handed batter has stroked 70 centuries and has amassed a total of 23,726 runs in the three formats of the game. He has been awarded the Player of the Match award 57 times and has been adjudged the Player of the Series 19 times.
Kohli has also been named as ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Decade once and ICC Cricketer of the Year twice. Apart from that, he has also been felicitated with Arjuna Award, Padma Shri, and Khel Ratna award.

The right-handed batter uploaded a short video on his social media account, and the clip shows some memorable moments in Kohli’s cricketing career including the triumphs of the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. The post has more than 1,00,000 likes on Instagram.
Kohli played his last international game against England as he was not a part of the India squad in the recently concluded tour of the West Indies. The 33-year-old will also not take part in the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe but has been named in the Men in the Blue squad for the 2022 T20 Asia Cup.
To note, Kohli will be playing his 100th T20I match when he will be up against Pakistan in the Asia Cup on August 28 (Sunday). The right-handed batter scored an excellent fifty against the Men in Green in their last encounter, but India had to suffer a ten-wicket defeat. Kohli will want to give another excellent performance with the bat against Pakistan and ensure that this time he gives a match-winning effort for his team.
