'It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity' - Rishabh Pant takes a dig at Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant took a dig at Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela after she revealed a story involving the cricketer and herself in a recent interview. There is nothing new in a cricketer and an actress getting involved, as there are cricketers who have married a Bollywood actress and are well settled. But the Rishabh Pant-Urvashi Rautela story keeps taking a new angle.

It all started back in 2018 when the two would frequently go out for lunch or gatherings and would get photographed by the media. But the rumours sparked when the media reported that Pant had blocked Urvashi on WhatsApp, and later on news surfaced that it was a mutual decision that the two took, and they blocked each other on the platform.

However, very recently in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Urvashi Rautela recalled an incident where she spoke of an individual who waited for her for hours in a hotel lobby to meet her. But she did not name him, and instead addressed him as “RP,” thereby politely denying to reveal his identity publicly, but fans assumed the person to be Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant asked her to leave him alone and stop lying

After her interview went viral and the two were the talk of the town, Pant shared a cryptic message on his Instagram story and took a dig at the actress, without naming her of course, and cleared the air around Urvashi’s story claiming it to be false as he wrote:

“It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them. #merapichachorhoBehen #jhutkibhilimithotihai,” as the two hashtags meant- leave me alone sister, and there is a limit to lying.

Urvashi Rautela, in her interview, had said that Mr. RP had come to meet her in a hotel where she was staying, but she could not meet him after a hectic schedule and the two decided to meet in Mumbai. But when they did, the media and paps surrounded them. She went on to blame the media for making them the headlines the next day and ruining the budding relationship.
