It’s like wine, says MS Dhoni when asked if he is getting better with age
With the win, India leads 2-0 in the five-match series.
Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was the star in India’s victory over West Indies drew an analogy of himself to wine when asked about his fine performance that night. “It’s like wine,” said Dhoni at the post-match presentation ceremony when asked if he is getting better with age. Declared the man of the match in India’s 93-run win, Dhoni played a crucial knock of 78 to poise India to a decent score of 251 at the end of the innings.
With the win, India leads 2-0 in the five-match series. However, it was a match in which India’s top order failed to score too many runs. Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed in the third over of the match and captain Virat Kohli departed in the 10th over after making just 11 runs. Eventually, it was Dhoni who was joined by Kedar Jadhav in the middle for the last eight overs as the duo played their natural game. This helped India put up a fighting total on the scoreboard despite being 170/4 at one point.
All-round performance from the Men in Blue help them seal victory
According to the Indian Express, Dhoni said at the post-match conference, “It was important to have a partnership at that stage. In my mind, I had 250, and we got there, with Kedar batting with me at the end.”
Lauding Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav the former captain said, “Kuldeep has played a lot of games, IPL, T20 format. The good thing is, compared to the last game, he bowled very well today.
The bowling department put up an incredible performance especially the spinners. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets as the hosts fell woefully short of the target. The hosts next play in a must-win fixture tomorrow at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. A defeat would crown the Men in Blue the winner of the series.
