Jacques Kallis is without a doubt the greatest all-rounder to have played the sport. The South African legend has had an illustrious career in cricket and has achieved heights which were probably not imaginable at the time when he debuted. His stubbornness with the bat and effectiveness with the ball had helped the Proteas line-up to win several matches over the course of his career.
Since his retirement from international cricket in 2014, the 44-year-old has been involved with cricket in various roles. He continued playing franchise T20 cricket across the globe till 2016. During this time, Kallis played a key role in the success of his sides, Sydney Thunder in Big Bash League, Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League and Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean Premier League. He is currently serving as the batting consultant of the South African cricket team.
Mr. and Mrs. Kallis blessed with a baby boy
Unlike his colleagues, the South African legend got married after his retirement. In January 2019, Kallis got married to Charlene Engels after the two dated for a long time. The couple has since been private about their lives but recently the former all-rounder announced the arrival of their first child via a post on Twitter.
On March 11, the couple was blessed with a beautiful baby boy. The former coach of Kolkata Knight Riders posted a beautiful photo of him, his wife and their son on Twitter. The caption read, “Welcome to the world Joshua Henry Kallis. Most incredible day of both our lives. Hearts exploding with love. Truely blessed @charlene_engels”.

No Jacques Kallis in IPL 2020
Kallis has been involved in coaching since 2016. After spending three years with Kolkata Knight Riders, he was chosen as the head coach for the 2016 IPL. The season before that, he had been the batting consultant for the side. After serving in the role till the 2019 IPL edition, Kallis was released from his duties.
The franchise went onto appoint former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum as the new head coach for the 2020 IPL. The move actually helped Kallis to get a coaching role for his national side. When Mark Boucher was brought in as the head coach of the South African side late last year, Graeme Smith, the director of cricket in South Africa, decided to bring the experienced all-rounder as the batting consultant.
