Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s famous no-ball seems to be garnering international recognition, now that it has moved from Jaipur to Pakistan. Reigning ICC Champions Trophy holders Pakistan were aided by Bumrah’s no-ball early in the final, when Fakhar Zaman edged one to the keeper, only to see the umpire’s arm stuck out horizontally. Zaman was given another life, and he cashed in with a blistering century on the biggest stage.
Fakhar Zaman’s hundred powered Pakistan to a daunting total of 338. In response, India were bowled out for a paltry 158, handing Pakistan their first ever Champions Trophy title.
Jaipur first, now Faisalabad
In an effort to draw awareness towards traffic rules, the Jaipur Police put up a billboard that poked fun at Jasprit Bumrah’s no-ball. “Don’t cross the line. You know it can be costly,” the hoarding read, with an image of two cars well behind the zebra crossing adjacent to that of Bumrah overstepping in the final.
Jasprit Bumrah was clearly miffed with the mockery, and lashed out at the Jaipur Police for its inconsiderate act. “@traffic_jpr well done Jaipur traffic police this shows how much respect you get after giving your best for the country. @traffic_jpr But don’t worry I won’t make fun of the mistakes which you guys make at your work . Because I believe humans can make mistakes,” he tweeted.

The Jaipur Police was quick to apologize the ‘youth icon’, tweeting, “Dear Jasprit Bumrah, our intent was not to hurt your sentiments or the sentiments of millions of cricket fans. We only intended to create more awareness about traffic rules.”
“You are a youth icon & an inspiration for all of us,” the cops tweeted.

Now, Pakistan has also jumped into the band-wagon. There seems to be no respite for Jasprit Bumrah’s error, as the Faisalabad City Traffic Police has also used the same image to warn people to stay ‘well behind the line’.
