Janhvi Kapoor trains at cricket camp with Dinesh Karthik for upcoming movie 'Mr & Mrs Mahi'

Actor Janvi Kapoor has started training at a cricket camp for her upcoming movie ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi.’ The film, which also features Janvi’s ‘Roohi’ co-star Rajkummar Rao, is learnt to be a cricket drama and fans are curious to know the plot. On Repulic Day 2022 (January 26), Janvi took to her Instagram page and dropped a major hint about her playing a cricketer in the film.

In the photos, the actors can be seen sporting a cricket helmet. She also shared a snap of veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik practicing in nets. Janvi can also be seen chilling alongside Karthik, film’s director Sharan Sharma and former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar, who’s a close friend of Dinesh Karthik. These pictures convinced fans about the movie being based on cricket. The comment section also got flooded in no time.

“Cricket camp #MrandMrsMahi,” the 24-year-old actor captioned the pictures. Meanwhile, Janvi and Rajkumar will play characters named Mahendra and Mahima, respectively, in ‘Mr And Mrs Mahi’. This will also be Janvi’s second project with Sharan Sharma. The latter made his directorial debut with 2020 film, ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, starring Kapoor in the title role.

With cricket having a massive popularity in India, it would be interesting to see how this movie performs in the box office. Speaking of Karthik, the 36-year-old would currently be gearing for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Having associated with Kolkata Knight Riders since 2018, Karthik was released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction.

As the two new franchises – Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively – haven’t picked the wicketkeeper either, he’s set to land in mega auction and is expected to fetch a decent amount. At 36, Karthik is certainly in the latter part of his professional career. However, he is a reliable wicketkeeper who can score quick runs in end overs.

Hence, franchises would go after him. As far as Abhishek Nayar is concerned, he also has been serving KKR as the assistant coach. Hence, he will have the onus to mentor the revamped KKR team in the forthcoming season.
