Ongoing India vs West Indies series has been a riveting affair with the batsman ruling the roost as far as the proceedings are concerned. The West Indies drew first blood at the Chepauk thanks to the belligerence of Shimron Hetmyer and tenacity of opener Shai Hope, as the duo scored contrasting three-figure scores to lead the visitors to a commanding eight-wicket win over the Men in Blue.
With this being a three-match series, the Men in Blue needed to pull one back, if they were to enforce a series-decider, and they did just that in Visakhapatnam. Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma scored tons while the duo of Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer played whirlwind knocks at the backend to help the visitors post a commanding 387 in fifty overs and eventually bat the West Indies out of the game.
And, so with the series locked at 1-1 and the decider set to be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, the all-rounders of both the units- Jason Holder of West Indies and Shivam Dube of India- decided to engage in a Table tennis encounter on the eve of the third One-day International.
The video of the all-rounders Shivam Dube and Jason Holder locking horns in a Table-Tennis contest was shared by the Twitter account of the West Indies Cricket Board, where they wrote with the caption, “#INDvWI Jason Holder and Shivam Dube in a friendly game at team hotel. Both Shivam Dube and Jason Holder have had a forgettable series thus far
Coming back to the ODI series, both Shivam Dube and Jason Holder haven’t had the best of times. While Dube was dropped after the first game in Chennai where he could manage just nine runs with the bat besides conceding 68 runs with the ball. As for Jason Holder, the former West Indies white-ball captain has been economical but has been unable to grab any wickets.
As for the third ODI in Cuttack, Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to put the West Indies in.
