Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian right-arm fast bowler, on Monday, March 15, tied the knots with sports reporter Sanjana Ganesan in Goa. Going by reports, the wedding ceremony took place with only 20 people present and mobile phones weren’t allowed during the ceremony.

Prior to the marriage, there were loads of speculations, which have now been put to rest. Bumrah isn’t a part of India’s ongoing T20I series against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He played in the Test series but later asked for a leave due to ‘personal reasons’.

“Jasprit Bumrah made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the fourth Test owing to personal reasons,” the BCCI wrote.

After he entered the wedlock with Ganesan, the 27-year-old Ahmedabad-born pacer shared a couple of pictures from their wedding.

He captioned the pictures and wrote, “Love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.” Steered by love, we have begun a new journey together. Today is one of the happiest days of our lives and we feel blessed to be able to share the news of our wedding and our joy with you. Jasprit & Sanjana.”

In the meantime, the video of Bumrah’s marriage with Ganesan has been doing the rounds on social media platforms.

Earlier this year in January, Ganesan posted a picture of their ‘moods’. The tweet later added fuel to fire to their wedding speculations. “Jasprit Bumrah’s on-field moods & my daily mood swings look exactly alike,” she wrote.

Ganesan also covers the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). She has conducted a number of interviews with several cricketers, including Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan. Earlier, Dinesh Karthik, the former KKR skipper, asked Sanjana the role she would have played had she been a cricketer.

In reply, Sanjana expressed her desire to open the batting and take her team off to flying starts. “I would have been an opening batsman. I feel like I was made to be an opening batsman. I am like a shotmaker, explosive start,” she had said.

Bumrah is next set to be a part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL), which starts on April 9.
