Jasprit Bumrah bamboozles Shaun Marsh with a brilliant slower yorker
Bumrah just beat the batsman before the ball was even delivered.
With every passing day, Jasprit Bumrah is showing how devastating a bowler he can be irrespective of formats and conditions. On a pitch where the Australian pacers toiled hard for two whole days, Bumrah has looked class apart, spitting fire with his bounce and pace. His variations were just too much to handle for the Australian batsmen as they looked clueless against him and Shaun Marsh’s dismissal perfectly sums it up.
The southpaw was looking well set after facing 60 deliveries. However, he just could not handle the stunning slower delivery from Bumrah. The right-arm pacer bowled a dipping slower delivery which was well on the stumps. The Australia star could not pick the delivery and consequently failed to bring his bat down on time. The ball went on to rap Marsh on his pads as umpire Ian Gould raised his dreaded finger.
It was the last ball before Lunch. The batsman would’ve already switched off going into the break. Bumrah knew and bowled one that he hadn’t done all through the day. It was well disguised, spot on with the length and more importantly sucked pace out of it to give Marsh no chance to save himself.
Just this one ball shows how impeccable this Indian pace attack is where they are not just able to outplay the opponent with the skills but also outthink them well before the ball is actually bowled.
Here is a clip of Bumrah stunning Shaun Marsh:
India in command
The visitors have taken a firm grip on the game after a fine bowling effort in the first session on day three. On a pitch where Australia struggled to make the ball speak the Indian bowlers have got it to do all the talking. Resuming the day on 8 for no loss, Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris could add only 16 runs before the later fell to Ishant Sharma. 12 runs after, Bumrah sent back Harris to reduce the hosts to 36 for 2.
Usman Khawaja also could not last long and departed after scoring 21 as Australia found themselves in a spot of other. And their miseries were compounded by Bumrah when he dismissed Marsh on the last ball of the first session to leave the hosts reeling at 89 for 4 in reply to India’s first innings total of 443 for 7.
