India’s latest bowling sensation Jasprit Bumrah has been highly effective for the team ever since he made his debut against Australia earlier this year. Former Australian pace bowling great, Brett Lee termed Bumrah as a “really good find for India” and said that he could easily bowl over 150kmph.
Lee also said that there is nothing wrong to say about his awkward action, as the former Australian great, Jeff Thomson also had an awkward action, but bowled well over 150kmph and had a successful career.
He is yet to feature for India in Tests, but in limited-overs cricket, Bumrah has been the best find for India in the last one year. Even when he delivers around 135 km/hr, the batsmen seems a lot more rushed, which is mainly because of his decisive awkward action. He had also shown a lot of temperament to bowl under pressure and crunch situations at the age of 22.
Earlier, there was some perception from experts that, he can’t generate much pace with the left-arm not doing much with the bowling action and he had proved them wrong by continuously clicking over 140Kmph.

There was also some criticism saying that with his open-chest action, he can only bring the ball into the right-handed batsmen, and guess what – he has added the out-swinger to his armory as well in the past couple of months.
Currently, Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker in T20 internationals in 2016. He has picked 24 wickets in 18 matches so far this year.
