While the fans really want to live their lives like the cricketers do, little do they realise the sacrifices that the cricketers make. While the players definitely make a lot of money and garner popularity all over the world, it comes at a very big expense.

The players rarely get time to spend time with their family members. India pacer Jasprit Bumrah will certainly agree to it. The India star is all set to join Team India in the Caribbeans for the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies.

Bumrah was rested for the T20I and the ODI series after a hectic schedule that saw him lead the pace attack of Mumbai Indians and Team India. And due to his international commitments, Bumrah had to celebrate Raksha Bandhan early. The famous festival where the sisters tie a Rakhis on the wrists of their brothers will be celebrated across India on August 15. However, Bumrah had to celebrate the festival on August 13 as he is set to leave for the West Indies.

Bumrah took to Twitter to state that he “couldn’t miss out on celebrating” the festival with his sister Juhika. “Team India duties means I won’t be here for Raksha Bandhan but I just couldn’t miss out on celebrating with you, Juhika. Thank you for always being there for me,” Jasprit Bumrah wrote on Twitter.

All eyes on Bumrah

Hopes will be high on Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming Test series. The two-match series will get underway on August 22. The series will also mark the start of both the teams’ journey in the inaugural World Test Championship. Last time India played a Test series, Bumrah helped the team win a historic Test series in Australia. It was India’s first series win on the Australian soil. Bumrah, who made his Test debut last year, finished the series as the joint highest wicket-taker after picking up 21 scalps.

Following the series against Windies, India will host South Africa for three T20Is and as many Tests. Bumrah is likely to play in both the series against the Proteas.
