Jasprit Bumrah is a bowler for all conditions: Michael Vaughan

India took an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match series against Australia following their resounding 137-run victory at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Even as a team performance attributed to the stupendous victory, it was fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who walked away with the Player of the Match award for his jaw-dropping spell of bowling in both innings.

The 25-year-old made his Test debut earlier this year against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town and hasn’t looked back ever since. He is currently the third-highest Test wicket-taker in 2018 with 48 scalps in nine matches while Kagiso Rabada, the South African speedster, is perching at the helm with 52 wickets. Bumrah ended the third Test at MCG with nine wickets.

Vaughan couldn’t stop praising Bumrah

In the first innings, the tall and lanky seamer picked up a six-wicket haul, which also turned out to be his best Test figures, having already picked up a couple of five-wicket hauls against the Proteas and England in Johannesburg and Nottingham respectively. The spell of bowling helped India bowl the Aussies out for a paltry 151 after they scored 443 for seven in their first innings.

Even in the second innings, the Ahmedabad-born pacer got three crucial wickets in the hour of need. In the current Test series, he is the leading wicket-taker with 20 wickets from three matches at an average of 14.65 and a strike-rate of 40.2. In the meantime, former English cricketer and current commentator Michael Vaughan was awestruck by Bumrah’s versatility as a bowler.

Vaughan also mentioned that he’s a bowler for all conditions. He took to Twitter and wrote, “If I had to pick one bowler to bowl for me in all conditions now it would be @Jaspritbumrah93 .. he has absolutely everything. Unorthodoxy,Pace,Swing,Seam,variation,hostility & he is a lovely bloke !! #AUSvIND,”
