Jasprit Bumrah's shoulder scans are okay, says BCCI official
He didn't travel with the team to Bengaluru.
Ever since Jasprit Bumrah walked off the ground with shoulder pain during the game against the Delhi Capitals (DC), the Indian fans and the team management are closely following the developments. He didn’t come out to bat as well later in the game which raised more doubts. Even Virat Kohli was reportedly worried with the injury even as Team India physio Patrick Farhart got in touch with the Mumbai Indians physio Nitin Patel.
Bumrah has not travelled with the team to Bengaluru on Monday as well but the reports came out that he is absolutely fine. He will also be joining the team on Tuesday and the latest update on the same clears all the doubt about his participation in the IPL and World Cup. The BCCI official has revealed that the shoulder scans of the pace bowler have come out clear.
“Bumrah had some shoulder scans done in the morning and BCCI was kept in the loop. His scan reports were okay. The tests that were done were all those recommended by the BCCI,” he was quoted as saying by Business Standard.
Why didn’t Bumrah travel with the team?
However, when Jasprit Bumrah didn’t travel with the team earlier in the day, speculations were being made about his injury. When asked about the same, the official said, “Since the reports came late and the team has already left, he is travelling separately.” He also seems fit to take the field for his team in their next game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 28.
As far as his performance is concerned, Bumrah endured a bad day on the field. He conceded 40 runs and picked only a solitary wicket. He was pummeled for a lot of runs by Rishabh Pant whose knock blew MI away in the game.
