Javagal Srinath satisfied with the preparations done at Barsapara Stadium

International Cricket Council (ICC) representative Javagal Srinath expressed his satisfaction with the preparations done at Barsapara Cricket Stadium. The newly constructed stadium in Guwahati is set to host an International T20 game this October between India and Australia. The former Indian fast bowler, who was there for the ICC accreditation, scrutinized the facilities provided.

He also said that many facets like the ground, outfield, pavilion, dressing room and various other aspects have been checked. He believes Guwahati is lucky to have an infrastructure of such high quality. The 48-year-old’s next stop will be at Thiruvananthapuram, where he will be inspecting the other new stadium which will be hosting one of the games when Australia will be in India next month.

Javagal Srinath features in the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees and the ICC requested him to inspect these venues which will be making its debut soon. He will be sending his report to ICC soon and the latter will take a final call. Niraj Singh Virk, BCCI’s anti-corruption manager also accompanied Srinath in this inspection.

This will be one of the best stadiums in the country

Curator at the Barsapara Stadium, Mukut Kalita has said that this stadium will be one of the best in the country and the officials will leave no stone unturned. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took some time to take a look at the arrangements made as they prepare to host a historic International game.

Minister of youth welfare and sports Naba Kumar Doley accompanied the honorable CM as the duo took stock of the ground condition, media box, dressing room etc. and they seemed quite happy with everything. This is the first time the state of Assam will play hosts to an International game the excitement sky-rocketing as the match day comes closer.

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has issued a statement regarding the sale of tickets, which will commence very shortly. The ground has a whopping capacity of 60,000, making it one of the biggest in the country and 37,800 tickets will be on sale according to the ACA.
