Unadkat's performance this season was not up to the mark as he could manage just 10 wickets in 14 games with an economy rate of 10.66.

Rajasthan Royals endured a tough outing in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), finishing at the sixth spot with just five wins from 14 games. In their last outing, they suffered a crushing loss at the hands of Delhi Capitals. And just like the team, Jaydev Unadkat also had a season to forget. For the second season in a row, the left-arm pacer failed to do justice to his price tag. Just like the 2018 auction, Unadkat was the costliest Indian player in this season’s auction too.

Perhaps this was the reason why he was under the spotlight as the cricket fans expected him to justify the huge price tag. But the Saurashtra players just could not found back the form that had seen him ending the 2017 season as the second highest wicket-taker. Since 2018, he has picked up only 21 wickets from 26 matches and conceded runs with 10+ economy rate.

His performance this season was not up to the mark as he could manage just 10 wickets in 14 games with an economy rate of 10.66. Every poor outing of his this season only invited criticism. But some fans took it to another level and had fun on Unadkat’s expense by making memes. Something similar happened on Sunday when one individual asked him to “enroll into a cricket academy and learn how to bowl.”

“Please enroll in a cricket academy and learn how to bowl,” wrote the individual.

Jaydev Unadkat hits back

Unadkat took note of the tweet from the fan and was quick to respond. But instead of slamming the fan straightaway, Unadkat politely made sure to make the individual realise his way of criticism was not at all right. He was also quick to point out that he faced abuse throughout this season, writing:

“Yes boss, already enrolled into one and will forever be enrolled, till the time I keep playing this game passionately. Because learning never stops. Neither when you fail nor when you succeed. Hope you guys learnt something from hurling abuses to me throughout the season.”
