Jaydev Unadkat is going through a golden patch in his life and is currently at the peak of his powers. After leading Saurashtra to their maiden Ranji Trophy win, Unadkat was hoping to perform well at the IPL and maybe gain another chance of a comeback to the national side. Unadkat revived his career when he finished with 24 wickets in the IPL 2017. He was also the second-highest wicket-taker in that tournament and this helped to make a comeback into the Indian T20 side.

This was also the first season for Ben Stokes. The star all-rounder was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for that season. He spent some time with Unadkat at the now-defunct franchise Rising Pune Supergiant as the two became good friends. Later on, the duo went on to play for Rajasthan Royals for the next two seasons in 2018 and 2019. Recently, the news surfaced on the internet that Stokes has called Unadkat “Mango man”. The left-arm pacer also revealed the reason why Stokes called him.

During the Instagram live session with the Rajasthan Royals official page, Unadkat revealed that during an IPL season, Unadkat brought some fresh mangoes for Stokes. He also said that the all-rounder was the happiest and absolutely loved it. This is after which the English player started calling Unadkat ‘Mango man’ of the group.

“When I brought mangoes for him, he was the happiest and called me Mango Man of the group,” Unadkat said while recalling the incident.

The Saurashtra captain then praised the England all-rounder. However, he also revealed that Stokes doesn’t like getting out. He said that the England star would smash his bat and helmet after getting out. He also said that Stokes is a great guy and a champion player.

“I have memories of him smashing his bats and helmets, he is dangerous after getting out. But he is a great guy, he is a champion,” the 28-year-old added.

Talking about the quarantine time, Unadkat revealed that he wants to get back on the field but the situation doesn’t permit that. He said its important everyone fights this together. “I am dying to be on the field. But I can’t complain. We have to be in this fight together,” the Rajasthan Royals pacer said.
