Jimmy Neesham hilariously trolls Glenn Maxwell after the Australia all-rounder tries to take a dig at him

A quality banter is never far away when an Australian and a New Zealander engage in a conversation. And something similar was witnessed on Monday when Glenn Maxwell and Jimmy Neesham decided to entertain the fans with a hilarious conversation on Twitter. It was Maxwell who started it all by taking a cheeky dig at Neesham but the latter had the last laugh.

It all began when a fan asked Neesham about his plans of joining the Mumbai Indians camp ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 14th edition of the competition is scheduled to begin on April 9. With not much time left before the tournament starts, players have started joining their respective teams.

Interestingly, Neesham and Maxwell’s team will be up against each other in the first game of IPL 2021. Neesham is a part of Mumbai Indians for the upcoming season while Maxwell will be playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Coming to the conversation between the two, Neesham replied to the fan in his own hilarious manner.

“I’m coming but I’m stuck behind this bloody cargo ship,” tweeted Neesham referring to the Suez Canal incident in which a giant container ship got stuck diagonally in the maritime passageway.

Jimmy Neesham and Glenn Maxwell’s banter

While Jimmy Neesham’s tweet left the fans in splits, Maxwell decided to have some laugh at the expense of the New Zealand star. The Australia all-rounder hilariously wrote, “Must be hard carrying bags that are 46,44,46.”

Maxwell was referring to that over where he smashed Neesham for 28 runs. The Australian had taken Neesham to the cleaners during the third T20I. In the 17th over of Australia’s innings, Maxwell hit Neesham for – 4, 6, 4, 4, 4 and 6. Later, both the all-rounders had also exchanged jerseys after the final match of the series. Neesham had hilariously written 4, 6, 4, 4, 4, 6 on the jersey.

Coming to the banter, Neesham was quick to fire back and made sure that he remind Maxwell about the winner of the five-match T20I series between New Zealand and Australia. The Black Caps had won the series 3-2.
