Josh Hazlewood hails Bangladesh as a world class team
Hazlewood s likely to spearhead the Australian team in the Test series starting on August 27.
The Australian team has had a rough time in the subcontinent in the recent times. They have lost Test series against India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan on the Asian soil in the last couple of years. Now, the challenge of team Bangladesh beckons them. While many might feel the Aussies could overhaul Bangladesh, the Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood is in no mood to take them lightly.
As per the recent quotes in the bdcrictime.com, Josh Hazlewood hailed the Bangladeshi team as a world class side. The team Australia has named a full strength team for their upcoming two match Test series in Bangladesh. Mitchell Starc is arguably the only big name who has been rested. In his absence, it is almost certain that Josh Hazlewood would spearhead the Australian bowling. Talking about the combinations, he quoted that they are likely to field only two pacers.
“There’s only going to be a couple of quicks in the team and a few spinners (but) as long as we’re working together, I think we’ll be okay. I see myself as a leader amongst the group now. The team has changed a lot since I first came in, and I’ve gone from a junior player to a senior player, so I try to take that extra initiative to lead from the front,” quoted Josh Hazlewood.
World Class team
Hailing the opposition as a world class team, Hazlewood cited the recent performances of team Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy as a testimnony of their brilliance. He also noted that they are no longer pushovers in the longest format of the game.
“They’re a world-class team. They had some pretty good showings in that Champion’s Trophy tournament and their test cricket at home has been pretty good. We can’t take them lightly, that’s for sure,” quoted the Australian pace bowler.
