Junaid Khan signs for Lancashire Lightning for the upcoming Summer's T20 blast

Junaid Khan of Pakistan made headlines when he last played county cricket. But has been in and out of the Pakistan squad since then. However, Junaid made a difference when he was in England playing county cricket and helped Red Rose County reach the finals.

He has now been signed by Lancashire Lightning for the T20 Blast. The conditions in Britain help his cause as the fiery left-arm pacer dwells on swing and seam. He has also played for the same team twice before; in 2011 and 2014.

The 27-year-old knows the current squad well and believes that it would be wonderful to go back and win some more trophies. He said: “It would be great to get back there again this year and win some more silverware.”

Junaid also said that the whole club made him feel extremely welcomed when he previously played for them. “The whole club made me feel incredibly welcome when I played for Lancashire in 2011 and 2014,” he was quoted saying.

The Pakistani pacer also believes that the experience he gained while in England has helped him improve as a player and every tour there is a learning curve for him. “The experience I gained in those years has enhanced my ability to swing and seam when bowling,” said Junaid.

He was a popular member of the squad previously and is returning along the same crop of players. The left-arm seamer would be able to settle in very quickly according to the head coach Glen Chapple. The Lancashire coach said that his addition will be a huge bonus for them in the death bowling department. “He should be able to settle in really quickly as he already knows a lot of the squad and his death bowling will be a huge asset for us,” Chapple said.

Junaid who last played for Middlesex will play all the group and the knockout stages of the tournament for the Lancashire Lightning.
