The pacer’s bid started at INR 2 crore and on expected lines, Rajasthan Royals, Archer’s former team, went after him.

MI also targeted him straightaway and won the battle against RR. When the bidding reached INR 6.5 crore, Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped in and made MI’s task sterner.
