'Just need to understand our strengths' - Cheteshwar Pujara's simple advice to team ahead of England Test
"All of us are looking forward to this Test match," Pujara said.
Cheteshwar Pujara has said that India need to regroup as soon as possible ahead of the Test match against England. The rescheduled fifth game will be played at Edgbaston from Friday, July 1. The Test specialist mentioned that each and every player must understand what their strengths are.
Pujara also added that India have a good bunch of players and quality fast bowlers and they need to repeat the same process that they had applied in the four matches last summer. Highlighting the importance of the contest, Pujara said that a win here will also go down as one of the best victories for India
We just need to regroup: Cheteshwar Pujara
“It is after a long time. So we just need to regroup. We just need to understand our strengths. The good part for us is we are here early. So there is plenty of time to prepare for all the players,” Pujara said in an interview with the BCCI, during India’s practice match against Leicester.
“I think the most important thing is we have a good bunch of players. We have quality fast bowlers. So the way the guys did in the last four matches here, I am sure they are eager to do the same thing again. If we can win this particular Test and win this series on English soil, I think it will probably be one of the best victories for India. All of us are looking forward to this Test match,” he added.
The Gujarat cricketer had a forgettable outing in the practice match between India and Leicestershire as he was bowled for a duck by Mohammed Shami. He would be hoping to rediscover his rhythm in the second innings. Meanwhile, regular skipper Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 and with vice-captain KL Rahul unavailable due to a groin injury, it remains to be seen who will be the acting captain for this Test.
