Out-of-favour Pakistan batsman Kamran Akmal is looking all set to face the trolls online once again. More often than not, Kamran faces the backlash from fans for even the smallest of mistakes on the cricket field and this time around, he has given the opportunist fans another chance to have a go at him. Kamran has audaciously picked himself up in Pakistan’s all-time ODI XI.

Kamran has not played for Pakistan since the tour of West Indies in 2017. Prior to being dropped, he was an integral part of the Pakistan team across formats. Kamran played 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is, scoring over 6,000 international runs with the help of eleven centuries and 27 fifties. Throughout his career, Kamran struggled for consistency and is unlikely to return to the Pakistan team any time soon.

All-time ODI XI

Talking about the all-time ODI XI, Kamran Akmal said that he would pick only those players whom he saw playing. He, however, snubbed some big names like Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan and made some startling choices. For the openers, the 37-year old picked legendary Saeed Anwar and Babar Azam. Anwar is one of the finest openers to have played for India while Babar is the batting mainstay of this current team.

For the number three position, Kamran picked up veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez while at number four he went for his younger brother Umar Akmal. Umar recently made his comeback to the Pakistan team in the T20I series against Sri Lanka but failed miserably. He failed to open his account in both the games he played.

At number five and six, Kamran picked former Pakistan skippers Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi respectively. For the all-rounder’s slot, he went for former cricketer Abdul Razzaq before boldly picking himself as Pakistan’s greatest wicketkeeper. In the bowling department, he picked only three bowlers in the form of – Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mushtaq.

Here is Kamran Akmal’s all-time ODI XI

Saeed Anwar, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Saqlain Mushtaq
