Karachi Kings all-rounder Ravi Bopara expresses his love for the city in Punjabi

The 32-year-old all-rounder was in the city for a short trip before leaving for Dubai along with his franchise

With the much anticipated third season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) set to kick off later this week, the teams have geared up to get their hands on the coveted trophy in what promises to be a high octane tournament.

And ahead of the mega-event, Karachi Kings marquee cricketer Ravi Bopara is leaving no stone unturned to impress Karachiities, as the England all-rounder was all praises about the city while expressing his love for Karachi and that too in Punjabi. The 32-year-old all-rounder was in the city for a short trip before leaving for Dubai along with his franchise for the upcoming edition of the PSL. During the visit, he participated in the team’s launching event as well.

While speaking to the media, Bopara praised Karachi in Punjabi saying, “Karachi bara sona hai [Karachi is very beautiful ].”

The England international also thanked the logistics and security support for being extremely efficient and posted a picture of him with security officials on Twitter. Bopara wrote, “Thank you Karachi and thank you for the top class security, making my stay a very pleasant one. Hopefully, we will see you all in the final.”

Bopara will play a key role in the Karachi setup

With 448 runs at a stupendous strike rate of 120.43, Bopara will play a pivotal role in the Karachi Kings franchise going into season 3. Bopara’s consistent form in the shorter format coupled with his medium-pace bowling makes him a useful weapon for any skipper.

He has been more consistent with a series of increasingly mature display and will be bringing in a lot of experience into the Karachi side. A versatile, wristy stroke player, capable of playing in any position in the batting line-up, the right-hander has successfully plied his trade in various T20 leagues all across the globe.

The PSL season 3 will kick-off from February 22, with a match between defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Mutlan Sultans.
