Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim hopeful to take his team to the final of PSL 3
The knockouts of PSL 3 will be hosted in Karachi and the team will finally be playing in front of their home crowd.
One of the franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) that is yet to make it to the finals of the tournament, the Karachi Kings are eager to make it big this year and are hoping to go all the way. Their captain, Imad Wasim, recently said that he will try to lead the boys to a title win and spread smiles on the faces of their fans.
Karachi Kings underperformed in the first two seasons
The tournament, which was first played in 2016, was won by the Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi respectively in the first two editions. Much like 2016 and 2017, this year too most matches will be played in the United Arab Emirates, while the playoffs are scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan. Skipper Wasim has urged fans to not lose hope and pray for their better performances in the third edition.
“We are going to the UAE keeping in mind that we have to win the title by performing in the third edition of the PSL. In the last two seasons we were not able to make Karachi fans happy, but this time we will come to Karachi for the final and win it,” said Imad as quoted by tribune.com.pk. “You all just pray for us and leave the rest to us, we will not disappoint you this time,” he added.
The Karachi final
In the second edition of the PSL, the final of the tournament was played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium amidst top-notch security. With slow but eventual revival of international cricket to the country, which received a huge boost after they successful hosted of PSL 2 final and the Pakistan vs World XI series, the knockout matches of PSL 3 are to be played in Karachi and Lahore, which is why Wasim and his men want to give it their best and qualify to play in front of the cricket-starved Karachi crowd.
