Former Pakistan international Shahid Afridi grabbed the limelight on Sunday for all the wrong reasons after a video of him started doing rounds on social media. The former Pakistan skipper, in the video, was seen criticising India Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The clip was shot during Afridi’s visit to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and it spread like wildfire across the internet.

In the clip, Afridi was spotted giving a sensational speech, holding nothing back in passing remarks over India PM Narendra Modi. In his speech, 40-year-old Afridi compared Modi to coronavirus while addressing the Kashmir issue between both the countries.

In the widely circulated video, Afridi is heard saying “the world is infected by a deadly disease, but what’s more dangerous is in Modi’s heart and mind.”

Twitter exploded with Indian fans who started lambasting Afridi for his sensational and hateful speech. Along with fans, many current and former Indian players also lashed out at Afridi for passing such insensitive remarks. This is not the first time that the former Pakistan all-rounder has raised the issue of Kashmir.

Many Indian players including Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Gautam Gambhir hit out at Afridi and bashed him for his remarks. Harbhajan, who had recently helped Afridi’s foundation to help raise funds amid COVID-19 outbreak, suggested him to focus more on his country and stay in his limits.

Following Harbhajan, Yuvraj Singh also lashed out at Afridi for passing such unpleasant comments against India and PM Narendra Modi. The left-handed all-rounder said that he won’t accept such words for his country.

Current India opener Shikhar Dhawan also didn’t hold back in giving a befitting reply to Afridi. Dhawan, in his tweet, lashed out at Afridi for bringing up the Kashmir issue at a time when the whole world is fighting against coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, the left-hander also clarified to Afridi that Kashmir will always be a part of India.

Shikhar Dhawan blasts Afridi for his comments amid coronavirus outbreak

“Is waqt jab saari duniya corona se lad rahi hai us waqt bhi tumko kashmir ki padi hai. Kashmir humara tha humare hai aur humara hi rahega. Chaiyeh 22 crore le ao, humara ek, sava lakh ke barabar hai . Baaki ginti apne aap kar lena @SAfridiOfficial,” tweeted 34-year-old Dhawan.

Afridi has been involved in many Twitter wars in the past too with former India international Gautam Gambhir. The two have fought several times over the Kashmir issue. Responding to Afridi’s latest remarks, Gambhir also left no stones unturned in giving him a befitting reply.

“Pakistan has 7 lakh force backed by 20 crore people says 16-year-old man @SAfridiOfficial. Yet begging for Kashmir for 70 years. Jokers like Afridi, Imran & Bajwa can spew venom against India & PM @narendramodi ji to fool Pak ppl but won’t get Kashmir till judgment day! Remember Bangladesh?” Gambhir tweeted.
