Kashmir pacer Mujtaba Yousuf earns a call up from Mumbai Indians for trials ahead of IPL 2021 auctions

The IPL 2021 mini auctions are all set to get on tables in February 2021, and franchises are putting in all efforts to strengthen their squads. In the same light, 19-year-old Kashmir based pacer Mujtaba Yousuf has been called up by five-time champions Mumbai Indians for the trials. Yousuf stole the limelight with his impressive performance for the Jammu and Kashmir team in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
The young left-arm pacer belongs to Bijbehara town of South Kashmir and displayed sheer class while plying his trade with his domestic team. He clinched five wickets in four matches and remained absolutely economical in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. As per the reports by sources around the J&K team, the young pacer has directly moved to Mumbai from Bengaluru for the trials on February 19.
It has been reported that while Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament was on, talent scouts of various IPL teams were present in Bengaluru to look out for the best players. Mujtaba impressed all with his spells, and that is why, he has been called by the Mumbai Indians for trials. During the initial part of the tournament, he was not included in playing XI of the Jammu and Kashmir side, but when he got his chance, he delivered outstandingly.
Mujtaba Yousuf was net bowler of KKR in IPL 2020
The 19-year-old player recently went to UAE in IPL 2020 as a net bowler of Kolkata Knight Riders. He was an active part of junior camps of India and made his debut for the senior team with Jammu last season. The IPL 2021 is likely to get on the floor during the desired months of April and May. Various teams are preparing in order to steal the limelight in the fancy T20 tournament.
The IPL 2020 got delayed owing to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic around the world. The venue also got shifted to UAE as India was not in a safe position to conduct the high profile tournament. Talking of Mumbai Indians, the Rohit Sharma-led franchise stole all the limelight again and lifted the IPL trophy for a record fifth time in history.
