Team India endured a horrendous campaign in their recently-concluded tour of South Africa. The Virat Kohli-led side started the proceedings on a winning note, clinching the opening Test by 113 runs. However, that turned out be their sole victory in the entire tour. South Africa bounced back and won the next two Tests, clinching the series 2-1.

While the Men in Blue were expected to bounce back in the ODI leg, the hosts proved to be too good for them as recorded a 3-0 triumph. Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj had a substantial impact in the ODI series. He picked up three wickets in as many games with his economy rate being 4.59. During the second ODI in Paarl, Maharaj became the first spinner to dismiss Virat Kohli for a duck in ODI cricket.

Keshav Maharaj delighted with South Africa’s stellar show against India

Kohli scored a half-century in the third game in Cape Town and was looking set to take over the line. However, Maharaj produced a peach of a delivery and ended his inning at 65. “What a Series it’s been couldn’t be more proud of this team and how far we have come, time to recharge and prepare for the next one Jai Shree Raam,” read the caption of the snap.

Netizens were quick to notice the ‘Jai Shree Raam’ mentioning in the post as they hailed Maharaj for not forgetting his roots. Notably, Maharaj also has “Jai Shree Raam, Jai Shree Hanuman” chants written on his Instagram profile bio.
