Kevin Pietersen and Yuvraj Singh engage in a banter on the probable winner of the World Cup
India and England are amongst the favourites to lift the cup.
The warm-ups of the World Cup are currently underway, but the main round is scheduled to start on May 30. The opening match of the multi-nation tournament is set to be played between hosts England and South Africa at the Kennington Oval in London. England is ICC’s number-one ranked team in the ODI format and quite expectantly, is being considered one of the favourites to win the championship.
After the humiliating exit in the 2015 World Cup following their defeat against Bangladesh, the Three Lions, led by Eoin Morgan changed the face of their ODI cricket. The team has turned into a brute force courtesy of their aggressive brand of cricket. One of their major competitors in the tournament will be the Virat Kohli-led India, another prominent contender to get their hands on the coveted trophy.
India and England- The favourites
The Men in Blue are ranked number two in the ICC’s ODI rankings and have been breathing down England’s neck with some consistent shows. The two cricketing powerhouses will be locking horns on June 30 at Edgbaston in Birmingham and the game is expected to be an absolute cracker. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh and former England batsman Kevin Pietersen engaged in a banter on Twitter.
Yuvraj shared the promo video of the opening match and mentioned that India will eventually take away the crown. The Punjab all-rounder captioned the video, tagged Pietersen and wrote, “There has always been a slip between the ‘cup’ and the lip for #ENG and #SA! Pehla match ye khelenge, but #CricketKaCrown hum #LeJayenge! Have you seen this yet, @KP24 @StarSportsIndia,”

Pietersen also joined in and countered Yuvraj efficiently. The retired cricketer said that England is destined to go all the way and win their first World Cup. Pietersen replied and wrote, “I’ve seen it mate, but we both know #ENG are going all the way and bringing the trophy home! So tell me if I’m saying this right: #CricketKaCrown hum #LeJayenge – correct, @StarSportsIndia?,”
