Kevin Pietersen mocks Indian fans on Twitter after hosts' gigantic loss to England
Kevin Pietersen had put a tweet after India's series win against Australia warning them about England
England beat India by 227 runs in the first Test of the all-important series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. This was India’s first defeat in Tests at home in four years. Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen took a jibe at the Indian fans after the heavy defeat.
The ex-captain of England posted a tweet in Hindi after the match ended. He cheekily pointed out that he had given a fair warning to the Indian team and their fans. A few weeks ago, when India won the Test series in Australia, KP had tweeted congratulating India in Hindi. In that tweet, he had also said that they shouldn’t be celebrating too much as their real challenge will be against England at home.
At that time, he had written on the micro-blogging site, “India- yeh aitihaasik jeet ka jashn manaye kyuki yeh sabhi baadhao ke khilaap hasil hui hai LEKIN , ASLI TEAM toh kuch hafto baad a rahi hai jisse aapko harana hoga apne ghar mein . Satark rahe , 2 saptaah mein bahut adhik jashn manaane se saavadhaan rahen.”
Kevin Pietersen tweets in Hindi again
Today after India lost the match, KP tweeted, “India , yaad hai maine pehele hi chetawani di thi ke itna jasn na manaye jab aapne Australia ko unke ghar pe haraya tha.” The message translates to “India, remember I have already warned you not to celebrate too much when the team had defeated Australia at their home.”
India had started day five with a score of 39 for one. Even though the first hour went towards India’s way, England started making inroads from the very morning. James Anderson dismissed Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane in the same over and later got the wicket of Rishabh Pant in the same spell. This spell put the hosts on the backfoot.
After lunch, England wrapped up the innings quickly and won the match by 227 runs. The second Test will be played from February 13 at the same venue. The third and fourth Test is scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad. The third Test will be a day-night affair and will be played with the Pink ball.
