IPL Auctions are always life changing for some cricketers and it was no different in yesterday’s auction in Bangalore. English left-arm seamer Tymal Mills who feared that his career was over a couple of years ago, bagged a whopping 12 crores and was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It will surely be a huge moment for Mills and he conceded that once it touched 10 crores he knew it was big money despite not knowing what a crore amounts to.

“When my name came up I was nervous, giddy and jumpy. I was on facetime with my best mate and he just kept shouting. The bidding was quite slow but once it hit 10 Crore I knew it was big money, but it kept going,” Mills said after bagging the whopping contract with RCB. “When it finished I did not know how much it was worth. When I worked it out I could not believe it, it did not seem real. It’s an amount of money that can change your life. It will for me,” he further added.

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen took to his twitter handle and besides congratulating Mills he also said that it was again a slap on the face of the Test cricketers as a T20 specialist became one of the richest England cricketers overnight. “Another SLAP in Test crickets face yesterday! A T20 specialist becomes one of the current England team’s richest players,” KP tweeted.

Further congratulating Mills, Pietersen said that Mills is a wonderful bowler and deserved to be in the England team four years back. “It’s not crazy! Mills is a wonderful bowler in T20! He deserves it! Should have been playing for Eng 4yrs ago” he tweeted.

Mills has been one of the fastest England bowlers with the ability to bowl at nearly 150kmph and has exceptional slower balls up his sleeve. He impressed one and all with his performance in the T20 series against India.
