The England cricket team is currently touring Sri Lanka for a two-month Test series at Galle International Stadium. The visiting nation has performed fairly in the tour thus far and managed to clinch the first game by 7 wickets on the back of a stunning double-century by skipper Joe Root in the second innings of the first game.

However, one thing that is a matter of concern for the English nation is the struggle of the openers Zak Crawley and Dominic Sibley against the left-arm orthodox spinner Lasith Embuldeniya. The spinner managed to scalp the wicket of both the openers in all three innings.

Crawley and Sibley have delivered an underwhelming performance in the series thus far as Sibley has scored just six runs from three innings while Crawley could manage just 22 runs next to his name in the same number of outings.

Seeing the struggle of the two batters against the spin attack, former England captain Kevin Pietersen urged Sibley and Crawley to go through the email India’s former captain Rahul Dravid had sent to him years back to help him play against the spinners properly and overcome his drawbacks.

“Crawley & Sibley need to go find the email that Dravid sent me about playing spin. Changed my game,” Pietersen tweeted.

In the next tweet via his official Twitter handle, Pietersen shared two pages where Dravid had discussed at length on how Kevin should go against the spinners. Dravid spoke about different ways to handle spin bowling. He highlighted the importance of not committing on the front foot and not worrying about getting beaten every now and then.

Pietersen further asked the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to take a print out of these pages and give it to Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley so that they can perform fairly in the next innings. He also revealed that the batsmen can connect with him anytime if they face any issue.

“Hey @englandcricket, print this and give it to Sibley & Crawley. They can call me to discuss it at length if they want,” Kevin Pietersen tweeted.
