Kevin Pietersen takes a dig at Sky Sports commentators, blames them for ending his career
The former England skipper took his outburst to Twitter.
Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen is enjoying his stint with the Indian Premier League as a commentator. Pietersen returned home after his stint in the tournament to make a return during the later stage of the tournament.
One of the most controversial English cricketer Pietersen doesn’t stay away from controversies which are evident through his curtailed cricket career. On Sunday, the batsman took a dig at the commentary panel of English sports channel Sky Sports. He took to Twitter where he said that the commentary panel is enjoying the IPL as they are making huge money by broadcasting the IPL. According to Pietersen, the same commentators were against IPL and were not ready to allow the English players feature in the cash-rich league.
The rift between Pietersen and ECB an old one
Pietersen had a history of troubles with the England board over the years. Pieterson was dropped from the side after a poor outing during the 2014 Ashes. The ECB had then said that they had dropped him for the lack of trust. Text message saga was one of the incidents which made a massive gap between the South Africa-born Pietersen and board as well as skipper. Andrew Strauss, the former English skipper too had troubles handling Pietersen when he was at Team Director of the England Cricket.
Pietersen made his debut for England in 2005 and last played for the country in 2014 during the Ashes series. He made 8181 runs in 104 Tests for England with the help of 23 tons.
Pietersen’s dig at the commentary panel means that the player still has issues with few of the people who according to the player played their roles in the exile of Pietersen from cricket. According to Pietersen, people at the top positions viewed IPL as a cash machine but now themselves are enjoying the tournament by broadcasting it and making good money.
