MS Dhoni’s aura, both as an individual and cricketer, has filled his fans with jubilation as his career has progressed. He made his debut way back in 2004 and hasn’t taken a backward step in his career. He is the only international captain to win all the three ICC trophies and has also won a couple of championships for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
En route his enthralling journey, he also had to encounter criticisms and other hurdles. MS Dhoni couldn’t perform as well as he was expected to and subsequently, was a recipient of a fair amount of flak from the public for not living up to expectations. Some of the fans and even experts went to the extent of suggesting that he should retire. However, he hasn’t let the failures tarnish his mental sanctity.
Unbreakable Dhoni
Rather, he stood tall to the challenges and kept answering his critics appropriately. He is currently leading CSK in the eleventh edition of the IPL and has been stupendous as a leader as well as a batsman. He has scored 430 runs for them in 14 matches at an incredible average of 86. Most importantly, he has notched the runs at a strike-rate of 155 to compile quite a few victories to his name.
MS Dhoni has also hit the most number of sixes across his entire career in the T20 league. His 2011 World Cup winning bat was auctioned for INR 72 lakhs. Recently, he gave an autographed bat to Kidambi Srikanth, a popular badminton player. Srikanth is one of the brightest shuttlers in the country and is also the winner of the Padmashri and the Arjuna Award.
After receiving the bat, he was elated and the 25-year old youngster took to Twitter and thanked Dhoni for the gift.
“Thank you @msdhoni for the wonderful gift and can’t tell how happy I am. This just made my day. #MSDhoni #fanmoment”
