New Zealand left arm seamer Trent Boult recently tied the knot with Gert Smith in a sumptuous wedding ceremony. Boult took to Instagram to make the announcement. The event took place in Kauri Bay Boomrock in Clevedon, south of Auckland.

During a trip to Melbourne in June last year, the Black Caps bowler popped the question to Gert Smith who works as a primary school teacher Tauranga. He posted a picture of him with his newly wedded wife on Instagram while captioning, “The best day of my life and so much more. An absolutely amazing day celebrating with all our closest family & friends – Thanks to everyone who influenced the day and to the gorgeous Gert for making all my dreams come true. I love you ❤️”

Trent Boult, who previously represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad during their successful campaign in 2016, was roped in by the Kolkata Knight Riders in this edition of the IPL. Boult was bought by the Shah Rukh Khan owned-franchise for a whopping sum of 5 crores, along with Nathan Coulter-Nile of Australia and Chris Woakes of England.

Boult’s former team and the new team met at the Eliminator of the tournament held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. His side went on to qualify for the second qualifier in a rain curtailed game. They lost the second qualifier to the eventual champions of the tournament, Mumbai Indians.

Boult last played in a competitive match against the Bangladesh side in June in ICC Champions Trophy. New Zealand faced the brunt of the bat of Shakib al Hasan and Mahmudullah in the final match of Group A.They were eventually knocked out by the Tigers as Bangladesh went on to overhaul teams like New Zealand and Australia to reach the semi finals of the tournament. India defeated Bangladesh in the semi finals but lost to Pakistan in the final of the tournament.
