Playing in the Indian Premier League is one of the best things that happen for not only the Indian cricketers but also for the foreign players as well. Foreigners not only get a good paycheck for playing with the best of the best of world cricket but also gain some new fans in the process.
Many obscure names got their first taste of IPL cricket and England’s Harry Gurney is one such cricketer, who was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2019 auction. Gurney has played for England in 10 ODIs and 3 T20Is, while has played 127 T20 matches picking 148 wickets with a best of 4/17. He had recently retired from FC cricket to focus on T20 franchise career and this led to one fan berating him for playing in IPL.
