Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been involved in some historic contests in the Indian Premier League depsite LSG still being a nascent side.
Lucknow Super Giants finished third in their maiden IPL season with nine wins and five losses in 14 games played. They lost against RCB in the eliminator and were knocked out of the race. LSG fared similarly in 2023 but couldn't make it into the last four in 2024.
Kolkata Knight Riders had a bad 2022 season. 2023 didn't change their fortunes, but 2024 was a massive year for the SRK-owned side as they finished champions blowing pretty much any opposition they faced into the water. The title win has essentially rejuvenated the side who will be looking to do better things.
