Kolkata vs Punjab Last Meeting:
The two teams met in the 31st match of IPL 2025 where PBKS picked up right where they left off, by defending a record low total this time. PBKS's openers started well but Harshit Rana struck thrice in the powerplay to induce a slowdown. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine cleaned up the middle order to keep PBKS to just 111. KKR lost both openers early, but Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi got a partnership that seemed to seal the game, but Yuzvendra Chahal induced one of the worst middle order collapses seen in the tournament. Chahal's four wicket burst sent KKR spiralling to a phase where they lost 6 wickets for 17 runs in 31 balls. Andre Russell then took 16 off Chahals' last over to keep KKR in the game, but Arshdeep Singh's wicket maiden to Vaibhav Arora made the task that much harder for KKR. With 17 runs required off 30 balls with one wicket remaining, Russell chopped Marco Jansen on to his stumps to give PBKS the distinction of having pulled off the lowest successful defence in IPL history.
