Sunrisers Hyderabad batting consultant Brian Lara was in disbelief after seeing yet another soft dismissal for the skipper Kane Williamson in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Williamson was batting on 9 off 16 deliveries when Andre Russell came into the bowling attack for the KKR side and the New Zealander in order to increase his strike rate, tried a cheeky shot over the keeper’s head, and ended up getting bowled.
Williamson hasn’t been in the best of forms this season at the top of the order and he has been finding different ways to get dismissed as well. The right-hander has managed just 208 runs so far in 12 games this season and these returns are pretty mediocre given the way he bats generally. He indeed has been impressive with his captaincy, but the franchise will expect a lot more from Williamson who had a great impact in the last few seasons.
He has had a lot of injury issues in the recent past as well with his elbow and it will be important for him to get back to good touch ahead of his international schedule. With the playoffs coming up, SRH will need their top order firing and Williamson has a big part to play if they qualify.

Meanwhile, KKR having opted to bat first after winning the toss and managed to post a big total of 177 on the board in their 20 overs, thanks to an excellent finish from Andre Russell who top-scored with a 28-ball 49. Sam Billings, Nitish Rana, and Ajinkya Rahane all got starts, but could not go long to make a big score. Umran Malik yet again was impressive with a three-wicket haul and was the pick of the bowlers for the SRH side.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have lost all their last four games on a trot after an excellent start to the tournament and their batting order has lacked stability right from the top.
