Kannur Lokesh Rahul, known as KL Rahul has been exceptional for India across all formats of the game. However, he has gone through a rough patch of late. However, his potential with the willow can’t be undermined by any stretch of the imagination. Having said so, Rahul needs to exhibit consistency owing to cut-throat competition for positions in the national team.
The Karnataka batsman has also plied his trade in the Indian Premier League. He played a couple of seasons for the Sunrisers Hyderabad after which he was bagged by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played some superlative knocks for them at the top and middle-order. However, the right-handed batsman was released ahead of the eleventh edition of the tournament.
Subsequently, he entered the recently concluded IPL Auction in Bangalore with a base-price of 2 crores. As many as four teams entered into a bidding war for the Indian batsman. Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai India, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab went hammer and tongs for Rahul. However, it was the Punjab franchise who grabbed him for a whopping 11 crores.
After his shift of franchise, Rahul took to social media platform Twitter and dropped a goodbye message for RCB and the team’s fans. He also thanked them for lending support to the Red Army throughout. Here’s the Tweet.
Thank you @RCBTweets and to all the fans who always cheered and supported the team! Will miss my Favourite RCB Fam. ❤️? https://t.co/w28xZ3wAzk

A useful buy for Kings XI
Lokesh Rahul has tasted a fair amount of success in T20s for India. He also has a century against the Windies in the format back in 2016 at the United States of America. Kings XI Punjab hasn’t won the tournament ever since the tournament’s inception. The franchise is likely to bank on Rahul for taking them off to healthy starts in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. He is most likely to partner Christopher Henry Gayle or Aaron Finch at the top of the order.
