KL Rahul breaks silence on his alleged relationship with Akansha Ranjan Kapoor
From Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa to Sunil Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty, Rahul has been linked with quite a handful of actresses.
The connection between Bollywood and Cricket dates a long way back. The cricketers are treated like demigods in this country and the Bollywood actresses also get blown away by the players. Right from the time of MAK Pataudi to current India skipper Virat Kohli, one has seen a number of cricketers getting married to Bollywood divas. Well, India opener KL Rahul also has had his fair shares of rumours.
From Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa to Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty, Rahul has been linked with quite a handful of actresses. But no rumour has hogged the limelight like his alleged relationship with Alia Bhatt’s best friend Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. For quite some time now, there are speculations that Rahul is dating Akansha.
The rumour was further fuelled when reports came out that Akansha introduced the cricketer to Alia and her beau Ranbir Kapoor. Rahul has now finally responded to the rumours. In an interview with Bombay Times, Rahul not only laughed off the rumours but also said that he had no idea about the reports.
“Oh, all these things have been written about? I don’t really read the papers, so I don’t know what has been written about me. I have learnt to keep my personal life personal and not make it a thing to talk about. I am committed to cricket right now,” he said.
Asked if he was single or not, Rahul played a defensive shot by saying, “I don’t really know. When I figure that out, I will give you a call and tell you.”
Rahul’s career
KL Rahul, nonetheless, has been doing well on the field since making a comeback after the Koffee with Karan controversy. He had a stunning outing with Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League before he impressed in the World Cup. After replacing injured Shikhar Dhawan as the opener, he scored two fifties and a century in the tournament.
Rahul is currently in West Indies for the ongoing series. India have already won the ODI and the T20I series and are now preparing for the two-match Test series.
