KL Rahul explains India's team building activities
Team bonding is one of the key factors for being successful as a team. Indian opener KL Rahul along with few Indian cricketers talks about the team building activities.
Rahul said that the team sometimes engages with the PlayStation while on tour and the Test specialist batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is the one who takes PlayStation very seriously.
“The most competitive is Pujara, he is very competitive and he takes the PlayStation very seriously”, reveals KL Rahul while speaking to India Today. “My favourite game is football (FIFA) on the PS”, adds Rahul.
The leg-spinner Amit Mishra said that the team always tries to spent a lot of time together, as it enables to understand each other better. “We like to spend a lot of time together as a team, maybe going out for dinners or just hanging out together in the team hotel or going out together. When you spend a lot of time with a person you start understanding them better and that has been our aim as a team to understand each other and work as a unit,” reveals Mishra.

Rahul backed Mishra saying that it is what the coach is also trying to do to have more team building activities. “That is what the coach is trying to do. To have more team building activities, maybe even doing yoga together, just spending a lot of time together helps us gel more. When we have better comfort levels off the field I think it reflects on the field as well as we can understand each other and perform better on the field,” Rahul explained.
Mishra said that he don’t used to play PlayStation as he is not good at it. “No I do not play PlayStation with the boys as I am not good at it. I need to practice more, I have an old version and need to practice on the new one,” reveals the legspinner.
The new batting sensation of Indian cricket, Rahul also said that friendship is really good in the team as everyone wants everyone to do well. “We have great friendship with each other, it helps that all of us are so young. The friendship has always been good among the boys as we are all young and we have all played cricket together for the country, maybe in the IPL, maybe in junior cricket at some point. The camaraderie and friendship is really good in the team. We all have this feeling of wanting the other boys and wanting everyone to do well,” adds Rahul.

Speakng about the Indian coach, he said that it is wonderful to have someone whom they had looked up as young kids growing up. He went onto say that the presence of Anil Kumble has played a key role in the team playing with a lot of freedom and aggression.
“We have all watched him (Kumble) on TV and looked up to him as young kids growing up. To have someone like him as coach or mentor of the team is wonderful. He has tried to keep things simple for the boys, he has let the boys go out and express themselves and he has given us the freedom to go out and take our own decisions. He tries to keep the atmosphere and the mindset of the boys very balanced”. he concluded.
