KL Rahul is respectful towards women, reckons KXIP owner Preity Zinta
"He is a very very nice guy."
Back in January, KL Rahul got himself tangled in a controversy after his remarks on the TV show Koffee With Karan. He was thereafter slapped with an indefinite suspension by the Committee of Administrators (CoA), but that was lifted and he made his comeback for India A in their series against England Lions. He is currently plying his trade in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 26-year-old is playing for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), captained by Ravi Ashwin. In the meantime, Preity Zinta, the co-owner of the Punjab-based franchise, heaped praises on Rahul and mentioned that he is ‘sweet’ and respectful towards women. Zinta said that the incident would teach Rahul and also sounded happy with the batsman’s return to form in the T20 tournament.
Zinta appreciates KL Rahul
“It is so good to see Rahul back in form. He is a very very nice guy. What happened is in the past, I just feel bad the way the whole thing turned out but you live and learn. Actually, he is very sweet and respectful towards women, so I don’t know the way it all came out. As I said, these are teachable moments,” Zinta was quoted as saying in Scroll.
Rahul has scored 91 runs in four matches at an average of 23.75. His top score of 71 not out came against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. KXIP’s next match is against the might of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) tomorrow at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The 44-year-old Zinta also remarked that she shares her experience from the Indian film industry with the youngsters of the franchise. “Yes, we do have those conversations, we have been there and done that. These are young guys and they will live and learn with time. Unless you make a mistake or falter, you will never learn,” she added.
