KL Rahul reverberates PM Narendra Modi’s call to light up India on April 5
The likes of Harbhajan Singh and Ravi Shastri have also come out in PM Modi's support.
In the wake of the massive coronavirus outbreak, Narendra Modi, the Honourable Prime Minister of India, has been in the thick of things. Last month, he started by announcing a Janata Curfew where he asked the netizens to appreciate the efforts of the doctors.
Then a couple of days later, he put forth the announcement of the 21-day lockdown in the country until April 14 that led to a bit of panic buying. This time around, while the entire country is staying in quarantine, Modi has again come forward to encourage the citizens.
Narendra Modi comes forward
On April 3, he addressed the nation in the morning and had another message to deliver. He said that on Sunday, April 5, the people should again be expressing gratitude to the ones, who have been working by the clock to mitigate the damage of COVID-19.
In order to do so, he asked them to switch off their lights at their homes and light candles in their balcony for nine minutes. The call has conjured support from a number of people, including some big personalities. From the cricket fraternity, Ravi Shastri and Harbhajan Singh supported it.
Now it’s KL Rahul, who have resonated PM Modi’s call on Sunday. The Indian middle order motivated his fans and circulated the importance of staying in unity.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “5th April 9pm for 9min..Stand up ! Light up ! Show us your roar, ignite the spirit of a billion hearts and throw this virus off our pitch without a hitch ! The spotlight is on you, together, we can win! @narendramodi @BCCI.”

PM Modi also spoke to 49 sports personalities that included Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Virat Kohli and even ace shuttler PV Sindhu and the legendary Viswanathan Anand. He also urged them to keep spreading awareness as the world keeps trying hard to fight coronavirus.
Thus far, over 3,300 cases have been reported in India with 77 people losing their lives. Worldwide over 12,00,000 have been infected by the virus with nearly 65,000 succumbing to the virus. The United States have fallen prey to a great extent as nearly 8,500 persons have lost their lives.
