The last few days didn’t go down well with KL Rahul by any stretch of the imagination. He featured on the popular show named Koffee With Karan, hosted by Karan Johar. Hardik Pandya was also a part of the popular TV show. However, the talk-show turned out to be a curse for the 26-year-old batsman and he was subsequently banned by the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA).
After a lot of speculations, the ban on the duo was lifted. While Pandya joined the national team in New Zealand, Rahul was included in the India A squad for the ongoing series against England Lions. From the cricketing perspective, Rahul has had a torrid time of late. The Karnataka batsman couldn’t live up to the expectations in the four-match Test series against Tim Paine’s Australia.
Twitter disgusted with Rahul
Now he has failed yet another time, this time for India A in the third unofficial One-Dayer against England Lions. The right-hander opened the batting along with Ajinkya Rahane and he got off to a pretty decent start with a couple of fours. Rahul notched 13 runs from 25 balls. But he couldn’t stay put in his wicket and was eventually nipped out by right-arm fast bowler Jamie Overton.
He was the second wicket to fall in the eighth over of the innings. With the World Cup in England and Wales knocking on the doors, this was a golden chance for Rahul to get his form back. However, the youngster just couldn’t arrest his slump. There are two more matches left in the series and the out-of-form batsman would be keen to get a substantial score under his belt.
Earlier in 2018, KL Rahul had an impressive stint for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) owing to which he was drafted in for the limited-overs squad for the England tour. He scored a century in one of the T20Is but flattered to deceive in the matches thereafter. In the meantime, Twitterati is gutted by Rahul’s show in Thiruvananthapuram.
