Kolkata Police raise traffic awareness through Cheteshwar Pujara's 'defence'
'Safe Drive, Save Life'
India’s ever-reliable number three in Tests, Cheteshwar Pujara proved his prowess in Australia as well by notching up his first ton in the country. While most of the other batsmen failed, he helped bail the side out of some deep waters. He was extremely patient and persistent in the middle and applied himself beautifully.
The Rajkot-born cricketer crawled his way to his 16th Test century. He was extremely disciplined out there in the middle and scored 123 runs before he fell victim to a mindboggling piece of fielding from Pat Cummins. The pumped-up Aussie bowling attack failed to breach his wall and Pujara played all kinds of deliveries with some good technique.
This special knock from the 30-year-old helped India get a sizeable total in the first innings. The side finished with 250 runs on the board after being 19/3 at one stage. The next highest score in the innings was from the willow of Rohit Sharma who scored 37.
Kolkata Police come up with a unique tweet
Kolkata Police often find great ways to spread awareness about following the traffic rules. This time, they took this innings from Pujara to cite an example of safety and discipline. In their unique tweet, they drew comparisons between the masterful innings and the importance of wearing a seat belt.
Just as Cheteshwar Pujara was notably disciplined with his shot selection, the police department also expects all the citizens to be equally disciplined about following traffic rules and wearing a seat belt. It helps to prevent any mishaps and keeps the members onboard in a car always protected. The damage during an accident is often significantly reduced if one wears a seat belt. Kolkata Police promoted their campaign – ‘Safe Drive, Save Life’ in this unique and informative tweet.
