KPL 2015 Match 27: Namma Shivamogga v Mangalore United, Preview: Mysuru, September 16, 2015: The stage is set for a flourishing finish to the league stage of the Karbonn Smart KPL 2015, with just one slot available in the qualifiers, on Thursday. Namma Shivamogga and Mangalore United with six points apiece go into this high tension contest knowing that only one team can progress.

In the event of rains washing out the contest, then Namma Shivamogga benefit on the basis of having an extra win than their opponents and squeeze through.

However, both teams would rather win it on the field of play. Fortunes have fluctuated for the two teams in the fray.

Namma Shivamogga began with a bang posting a hat-trick of wins before they slumped to the chagrin of the coach and management. They have now lost three matches in a row and will be hoping they can pull off one victory that could make the difference in the knock-outs.

Mangalore’s path has been chequered. They will certainly consider themselves unlucky too. Off the six matches so far, Mangalore United have won two, lost two and were forced to split points in two of their encounters due to rains.

Both teams have the potential to go through to the next stage. Mangalore United did stumble a bit against the Rockstars on Tuesday. They will need to put behind that performance and play to potential if they are to get past Shivamogga.

Shivamoggas skipper Stuart Binny is due for a big score and so is allrounder Shreyas Gopal. Their Opener Sadiq Kirmani is having the great time wearing the Orange Cap and Mangalore United will be hoping to get him before he does too much damage.

However, Stuart Binny will need to consider his bowling options. It has been the weak link and the skipper will need to roll his arm for the team.
