Belagavi Panthers won this game to become the Winners of KPL for the first occasion. They were the finalists in 2009 and 2014. They had lost to Bangalore Rural Provident in 2009 and to Mysore Warriors in 2014. The following table details the winner and the runner in each of the six editions of Karnataka Premier League.
