England Women’s Cricket Team won their fourth World Cup title when they defeated India by 9 runs in a see-saw final at the Lord’s Stadium. India looked set to overhaul the 229-run target that hosts England had set but Anya Shrubsole’s career best 6/46 turned the tide towards the home team as India collapsed under pressure.
The Indian players looked very dejected during the post-match presentation as they knew that they had floundered a perfect opportunity to get hold of their maiden World Cup win. Mithali Raj led them with distinction and scored crucial runs during the tournament to help India qualify for their second World Cup finals. She said that she was proud of the way her girls played throughout the 8-team event in England.
KRK at it again
Controversial actor KRK had something to talk about for the Women’s final. First, he alleged India of match-fixing charges. According to him, Mithali Raj – who was run out in this game – didn’t show enough desperation in getting back to the crease. After England lifted the World Cup, he shared another tweet, this time congratulating the England team.
KRK is busy with the production of his next movie: Deshdrohi 2. In a cheeky tweet, KRK addressed Sarah Taylor as a “hottie” and even offered her a role in Deshdrohi 2.
Hey hottie @Sarah_Taylor30 congts to you n entire England team for wining #ICCWomensWorldCup! I offer u to play Main heroine in #Deshdrohi2!

Prequel of Deshdrohi 2 was a big disaster
Such remarks on a popular sportsperson don’t come in good taste but KRK is known to make such cheap remarks time and again. Deshrodhi 2 will be a sequel to his movie Deshdrohi which was released in 2008 and bombed at the box office with critics claiming it to be the worst movie ever in the history of Bollywood.
England will be delighted to lift the World Cup in front of their home crowd. This Women’s World Cup was the best in the history of Women’s cricket and promises to take them to new and greater heights.
