KRK taunts Team India after warm-up game loss; says Kohli’s men won’t make World Cup semis
KRK wasn't impressed with their show against the Blackcaps.
They are being projected as one of the favourites in the World Cup 2019 but India had a poor start to their tour of England for the quadrennial event. On Saturday, Team India was trounced by New Zealand in their first warm-up game at the Oval after the failed to deliver with the bat. Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first on a wicket that had enough grass cover to help the fast bowlers, the Indian batting didn’t arrive and as a result they slumped to 7 for 91 to get all out for 179.
It was Ravindra Jadeja’s 50-ball 54 at No.8 that pushed them across the 150-run mark. New Zealand won the match by 6 wickets with 77 balls to spare. Kiwi pacer Trent Boult was the wrecker-in-chief as he took 4 for 33 while medium fast bowler James Neesham took 3 for 26 backed him up. All the top names of India’s batting failed to rise on the occasion. Kohli scored 18 off 24 balls while KL Rahul, who came in at No.4, managed just six off 10.
For the Blackcaps captain, Kane Williamson scored 67 while Ross Taylor top-scored for the team with 71. For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jadeja took a wicket each. India will play Bangladesh in their second warm-up game on May 28 and kick off their World Cup campaign on June 5 when they take on South Africa at the Rose Bowl, Southampton.
It’s only the trailer
However, even as Team India’s fans were dejected to see their favourite team doing so poorly in the warm-up game, film personality Kamaal Rashid Khan mocked their performance. In a tweet, the 44-year-old controversial actor said it was only the trailer and predicted that India would not make the semi-final in the World Cup. He even termed India as “BCCI Team”.
Khan, who is also called KRK, is known for making controversial remarks which often earns him brickbats from people, including members of his own fraternity. In another tweet posted recently, he taunted the family of Shatrughan Sinha saying both Shatrughan and his wife lost in the just-concluded Lok Sabha election and mocked his children saying their acting careers had also finished.
