Krunal Pandya and Ajay Devgan indulge in a funny conversation on Twitter
Krunal started the conversation by wishing Devgan on his fiftieth birthday.
Krunal Pandya had a day to remember on Wednesday as he played an impressive role in Mumbai Indians’ impressive 37-run win over Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians were reeling at 50 for 3 when Krunal joined Suryakumar Yadav on the field. With Suryakumar holding firm and playing cautiously, Krunal took the onus on himself to accelerate the run-rate.
The all-rounder, who made his India debut last year, scored 42 in quick time to take Mumbai over the 100-run mark. His day then became even more memorable when his younger brother Hardik starred with both and bat from the time Krunal left the crease in the 18th over. Hardik first hit 25 off just 8 balls to power Mumbai to 170 for 5 from 125 in the 18th over. With the ball, Hardik bowled a decisive spell that broke Super Kings’ backbone.
Hardik picked up three wickets for just 20 including the wickets of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja inside an over to derail Super Kings’ chase. The Super Kings eventually finished on 133 for 8 to suffer their first defeat of this season after playing four games.
“We were at 50/3 at the half-way stage, but to end up with 170, I think it’s a good score on this pitch. I am very happy for the way he’s (Hardik) batting, I’m impressed. I have never seen him bat this well previously, will have to use our variations to defend this score,” Krunal had said after the end of Mumbai’s innings.
Days keeps on getting better:
Soon after the end of the match, Krunal took to Twitter to strike a funny conversation with Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgan. Krunal started the conversation by wishing Devgan on his fiftieth birthday on Wednesday. Hilariously calling Devgan his doppelganger, Krunal wrote: “Singham 🦁 Superstar 🌟 and my doppelganger 👬😝 Happy birthday to one of my favourite actors @ajaydevgn 👏🎂”
Devgan then posted an equally funny reply, writing: “Thanks Krunal.. Ek double role ki film saath mein karte hain! 😜 (Let’s make a movie on double role)”
Krunal then agreed to the proposal but on one condition as he asked Devgan to visit the Wankhede and cheer Mumbai Indians. “Done! Par pehle aap Wankhede padhariye to cheer for @mipaltan phir film karte hain 🙌 😁”
